SIGNING: Troy becomes a Robin!

Updated: Mar 2, 2019

Frome Town are delighted to confirm the signing of striker Troy Simpson from Bristol Manor Farm.

The prolific striker moves from Bristol to Badgers Hill, after a bumper couple of years in front of goal.

Whilst at Odd Down, he scored 41 goals as they were crowned Western League champions in 2016 before he made the move to Manor Farm.

Simpson would help 'The Farm' return to the Southern League, as he secured a second consecutive 'Golden Boot' (scoring 37 goals!) and Western League title.

Last season, he would go on to score another 18 goals at The Creek as they narrowly missed out on a play-off place.

Upon joining, Simpson said: "I'm now really looking forward to my new challenge with Frome, and doing all I can to help the club get out of the position they are in."

Manager Danny Greaves is delighted to have added to his forward line for a second time in a matter of days, after Brad Norris joined on Saturday.

Greaves said: 'I'm delighted to be able to add Troy to the squad for the final quarter of the season. With 11 massive games still to play, it's still all to play for to achieve our goal of securing Southern Premier football for the club next season.

"It's been clear a lack of goals has been a problem for us this season, and with only one out and out centre forward on the books in the form of top goalscorer Ryan Bath, we needed to strengthen that area."

"Troy's goalscoring record is second to none in the region for the last few years. I think the 2 recent additions in Brad and Troy will complement Ryan Bath, and I think our other attacking players in the squad will benefit also."
